Even the lack of 4k video output may not be what it seems. There’s still little in the way of 4K video available, but given the new Apple TV’s hardware (including 802.11ac, an ethernet port, the A8 CPU and most importantly a 4K-capable HDMI 1.4 port), it’s entirely possible that Apple could enable 4K video output with a software update.
