MuGard has significant side effects and many allergic reactions, according to user message boards that I've read. Apparently it's also horrifically expensive, to the point that some poor guy was asking if anyone had some left over that he could try, because his insurance company refused to pay for it.

I post this again because bashers elsewhere are apparently trying to say there's no need for Bril-OM. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Also, MuGard is not effective for a lot of people, according to the posts I read on the message boards.

Brilacidin-OM certainly DOES fill an unmet medical need. Imagine being so sick with chemo or radiation therapy, and then getting a horrible allergic reaction on top of that.
