Not all shares will be going to a broker. Some people will have physical paper shares. You can get them through your broker.
The thing is that most people have an electronic account and that is set up through your broker. Therefore, the easiest way for the shares to be transferred is through a broker.
I can say that having paper shares, ie: stock certificate , is pretty expensive , but, you can do it.
The days of getting 'free' Cen shares based on the spin off is over and there is no way in hell anyone is going to try to keep up with trading back and forth up until the issue date to see who owns how many shares. If you have shares of Cen on the 30th of November and that amount was over seven hundred.......then you will be allotted shares of Cen.
I will try to find the rules for that. I posted them someplace before, I will just have to try to find them. When I do I will re post them. GLTA
