In 1995, our 16 year old said, "for my birthday I want a computer. We use them at school and to do homework etc it's a must"
$4,000 later it was set up, printer, speakers...blah blah blah.
Us parents had no clue what to do with it. He showed us but there was no interest on our part. I told my wife, "I will complete my life without ever using a computer."
In 1994 a co-worker told me a "super information highway" is coming. You can send typed messages to anywhere in the world. There will be a dictionary to look up anything you want, anywhere in the world. I laughed at Bill then said, "you been drinking?"
So, here we are, making friends (and enemys) without the benefit of sound, sight, touch, smell....
There is a skill set involved to be in read only mode, and really understand the intent.
All we have to judge another by is what we read.
The human dynamics in play is amazing.
