I am not a philanthropist. I did not invest in AMBS so that Alzheimer patients would have a better test method or so burn victims might have a better treatment or...

I invested in AMBS to make money. If their science benefits others that is great. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease and anything that might lead to eventual help for these unfortunates would be a blessing. Likewise, severe burn victims are suffering horribly and a therapeutic that can help theses people would equally be a blessing. But all that is beside the point - I invested in AMBS to make money and why would I take any action that I know would jeopardize that goal?

So let me ask this, if the company that might offer help to these people is not ran by an individual that does not meet a particular moral stature is that a reason to not support the company in spite of the CEO's failings? Is it not more of a moral failing to ensure that the company will fail without the possibility of bringing relief to those affected?

Anyway, I invested in AMBS to make money. It goes against my morals to purposely take action detrimental to my success.
