So I'll add, if a manufacturer uses the term FAA APPROVED, on its product literature, installation instructions and maintenance manuals, the FAA is putting themselves at risk.
At a glance, it appears harmless, but in court, when a judge and jury are involved in a bodily injury of loss of life case, approved and listed take on different meanings.
In my work life, suits for above found me in depositions, settlement hearings, but never made it as far as a trial, even in a death case. The product literature as an example would say...recommended installation and maintenance instructions by a qualified and licensed electrical contractor, with all products bearing the UL Listing Label.

We were schooled yearly by the firms lawyers the correct way to present goods and services to keep our employer out of court. Also worked for Rexel and Crescent in the Electrical Wholesale end of all things electrical. ELECTRICIANS were our buddies!!!
