You could be right. Even if there isn't a news event, we have established today that there are people out there willing to take on the "stacked ask / sacrificial bid dump" tactic head-on by hitting the ask, and that when the ask is hit repeatedly and rapidly, the "hold it back plan" is having to be made up on the fly - as evidenced by the .015 x .0299 situation at 12:30 which took a few minutes to end up as .019 on the ask after rethinks at a number of single points in between.
