SkyQ is rumoured to combine live content, recorded shows and on-demand content in the same place – making jumping between old, new and live content seamless.
The television firm is believed to have been working on a new set-top box – dubbed SkyQ – for a few years.
The new hardware will reportedly ship with Netflix-style on-demand video library and will stream live 4K video to rival BT Sport Ultra HD.
Whether or not this long-rumoured new hardware will make an appearance next month remains to be seen.
