I'm in aviation and a pilot knowing anything about a maintenance issue is kind of laughed at. There is a known failure rate when anything is overhauled and or repackaged such as a slide. It is coming knowledge among people in the aviation industry.

That being said I believe Baltia is spot on with addressing this with the company who was in charge with repacking the slides. This takes the blame away from Baltia completely and puts it on someone else. The FAA may have actually told Baltia to go this route, I don't think Baltia just did it for the hell of it.
