Especially with what happened in Fort Lauderdale yesterday... you have malfunctioning slides packed into every commercial craft that's currently in the air, it seems.
One would imagine that once they determine a way to fix this it would be a game changer and a very positive thing for the FAA (and, of course Baltia). With slides as they currently are, the FAA is one bad incident away from a real s*itstorm if it doesn't get fixed. Imagine a situation like yesterday where 2 of 4, or God forbid 3 of 4 slides don't deploy correctly. Terrifying to think about, and I would imagine the FAA is thinking the same.
