Do you have CTIX in an IRA? There are great advantages to having it in a Roth rather than a traditional IRA, if you qualify for a Roth. WIth a traditional IRA, you have to start withdrawing a certain percentage every year after you are 69 1/2. This means that if you don't actually need the money to live on, you have to withdraw it anyway -- and that means it does not sit there tax-free (hopefully) continuing to grow.

With a Roth, there's no timeline for withdrawal. So, it can sit there continuing to grow until you actually need the money, or until your heirs get it.

It is not true what's being said elsewhere that there is no advantage to a Roth.
