If it were possible to employ a long term strategy in which shares could be sold and the financial system accommodated that capability, the objective would be to drive the share price to zero. In most cases the target stock would be unable to raise funds to continue. If that should occur and many millions of shares had been shorted the selling entity would never cover the previous sales, never recognize a gain, never pay taxes on the gain, then look for the next target.

The antidote is to become self sustaining and a CEO with the capability to fund the company until that point is reached.
