A "mycin" antibiotic works but not quite non-inferior to the terribly dangerous Avelox:

Personally I'd much rather have a bad infusion-site reaction (Cempra's drug) rather than be in a wheelchair, or irreversibly deaf, because I took Avelox.
It galls me that these regulatory agencies don't take into account the fact that some of us are allergic to various antibiotics, so even if something genuinely IS slightly inferior to a current antibiotic, some of us can't take the current ones so we NEED the new one to be approved.
