I apologize but I am not going to make a leap of faith and suggest CRGP planned to do anything. I simply do not know. I also do not know that they skipped across the border to anywhere. I operate on facts, not speculation. At this time the factual record is minimal. It is far from being developed.
Despite this my opinion remains that if a clearing firm is going to do this type of business that it necessarily assumes the risk of that business. Here, the knew (because they are required to know) that special dividends operate under different rules and the stock they were selling had due bills attached. They have conveniently forgotten to tell that to the Court.
