Quite a few years back, but well after 9/11/01, I tried to file a complaint/warning with the FAA. I made phone calls, left messages, e-mailed, etc.......but no reply.
Seems there was a single prop plane that would come off the Great South Bay, and as soon as he hit land, he would start doing his stunts......stalling his engine, spiraling downward, etc.
The bastard had a bad habit of doing it right above my house. I had no problem if he wanted to do it over the Bay, where if he F'd up, it was just his life that he took.
How did this resolve?
About 4 months after all my complaints.....on the front page of Newsday.......was the little red plane, nose down on the runway at Republic Airport.
I know the FAA is all about public safety.
