You're right about the flavor, and as far as surprises go I've seen some that would drop your jaw. A good example is Rohan Marley's company, Jammin Java, hit a high of well over $6/share back in the spring of 2011. They are just now coming up on net profit. Probably a good investment right now @ .18/share. Why it shot so high and so fast when it did had to be unusual hype or manipulation, or both, but no allegations of inside trading violations resulted. Ya never know!
