You're focusing on the wrong part. I said advertising makes sales. I named several ways to do it on a budget. I use them as examples and models because they're household names. No one complains when we're compared to Monster, so let's use them. You think Monster didn't advertise in its infancy? Even mom and pop stores advertise in at least local newspapers. Charity advertises events, wonder why. Is it because it raises awareness and increases exposure and turn out? Word of mouth does work, but 1 billboard on a freeway in Dallas brings product awareness to tens of thousands of drivers a day. Advertising doesn't have to break you. That's the only point I'm trying to make. I don't expect them to spend Walmart money. I would like to see them do something though. It would greatly increase sales. Something simple as billboards.
