Another reason for the Authorized Shares (AS) increase could very well be a bear trap. MMs see the increment in AS and short like crazy (naked short) expecting a flood of new shares and price goes down.
CRGP uses the opportunity to buy back shares at lower prices, typical shares or air shares (naked). With a merger, the naked ones have to be covered and paid to whoever has them.
The expected new shares never came.
