I think I read in someones notes that a subscription model would be a future consideration, but not in the immediate plans. I think it is another good potential revenue stream, but the margin would have to be better than the 5% I think Netflix makes.
The Comcast model has a movie sales component, a movie rental component and has recently adopted a subscription component as well as free movies for customers viewing.
I like that model myself, but IMO the primary focus at this point in time should be increasing content, getting the technical aspects worked out with the TV manufactures and establishing name recognition.
Available content is going to be a driving force in 4K tv sales. I think NTEK is well on it's way to do all three. I'm looking forward to seeing the marketing and promotional aspects of the plan come into play this fall.....
