General Electric started doing it 20 years ago. (Example) I was a Certified Cardiovascular Engineer for GE Healthcare Div, CEO was Jeff Immelt and we had our own CFO. All divisions did the same and reported to GE Corporate, Jack Welch. We had a Corporate CFO working with Mr. Welch (Whom I liked a great deal, Met 3 times and had dinner with him once) Then my boss Jeff Immelt took control of GE Corporate over from Mr. Welch.
There were 12 core Businesses Each Having CEO and CFO that rolled up to Corporate.
For "QMC" I think one is for Soltera Solar and the other is "QMC Corporate directly reporting to SS.
