It's politics but BLTA will never get a green light to fly to Russia because Putin has been a bad boy in Crimea and in the Ukraine. But the bottom line is that BLTA won't get approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation to fly because the State Department won't allow new flights to Russia and wouldn't allow new flights to Russia even if BLTA's airplane was brand spanking new. If you don't like the policy, argue with Susan Rice. BLTA flying is DOA due to geopolitical reasons. Stick a fork in BLTA. It's done.
