apple isnt out of 4k. imac 5k retina display is real. ntek developed ultraflix to run on it (software download http://ultraflix.com/ ). apple may think 4k (5k ) intro makes most sense via "desktop market". initially
apple leading on tv is risky. they won't "lose" customers/market share if they are "a tad late" to uhdtv-market. their loyal customers will eventually adopt the ecosystem they build. its (their products. business ) set up that way
but, they'd risk a bigger misstep. if they tried to lead. and failed
besides. apple is cash flush (why deplete cash on such an unnecessary "first-to-market" risk? they'll buy up companies if they need to ). they can buy their way right to the top. if necessary
