ARIA 9.90 up 2.92, short 28% of float, moved on news>>. If the shorts scramble it could rocket upwards, I might wait for the stock to come back down a bit and stabilize at a realistic bottom (wherever that is) rather than ride a short momentum play. Just watching for now..
Baxalta Inc. (BXLT), which has received an unsolicited $30.6 billion takeover bid from Shire PLC (SHPG, SHP.LN), is in talks to buy Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ARIA), Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Ariad shares recently traded up 42% to $9.93.
The Bloomberg report said there is no certainty of a deal and that Baxalta may pursue other targets.
