This cor deal is only one short exposed. There may be others out there as well. Maybe with smaller amounts to cover. I hate the greys, but even if we do go there, someone has to buy back shares to cover their short position and it's possible knowing that there are that many shares that have to be bought, I don't think anyone will sell them cheap.

I can't see why the stock should have to trade on the greys though. It wasn't the companies fault.
