Exactly - it was obvious that legal advice had been taken in the preparation of the letter that accompanied the certificates clearly explaining the terms of the "gift" and how it was approved by the board of the old company. It was very good of the new company to even consider honoring them in some form yet to be decided - at the request of the former CEO incidentally.
Those bashers ought to be more concerned about the much more likely legal action - individuals suing for libel and defamation of character, CEOs suing for damage done to the reputation of their companies and any effect on the value of the company, large groups of legitimate shareholders suing them, and relevant authorities and law enforcement investigating conspiracy to affect the price of a stock. Any of those have much more chance of being initiated and being successful given the overwhelming weight of digital evidence and testimony available from people with proven integrity and credibility.
