Essentially,DS Hawaii has partnered with the FAA-Region 9 post at the University of Alaska to setup a training/proving grounds in Lanai. This partnership will allow DSUS to influence the regulations governing industrial drones as well as try out new technologies that might be appealing to the FAA for future implementation.
I don't see this as a major revenue source in the future, but, it may be quite useful as a PR tool.
I think the areas that are of highest import are the 3 police departments doing an eval. Unfortunately, I didn't hear anything about the various geographic inspection options they were looking at earlier (such as pipelines and farms). I guess that opportunity was a bust.
