They don't need the scanners to get the 100 films ready for Ultraflix. They are only used to convert content that is on legacy film into digital files. Whatever is available in blu-ray is readily upscalable into 4K without the involvement of a scanner. Maybe some additional adjustments are needed, but that doesn't take weeks to do one movie.

Or they are wanting to surprise everybody with the uploading at the last minute, or Riordan just lied in our faces when he wrote his last shareholder letter.
