This is true.  I guess it wouldn't be that hard to create a quick template (i.e. a universal response) to respond to individual emails to give us a sense he does care.  Btw, I have emailed MD 3 times and received 1 response.  That one response was when I was discussing the slander and liable going on.  I guess he picks what email topics he wants to respond to.  I think when enough investors ask the same thing he puts out a PR update.
