its well known that usa (and maybe russia-at least for Europe) is to nat gas as what Saudi Arabia is to oil- its traditionally just been burned off at the wellheads-a short sighted policy that is changing- LNG is shipped from USA to Japan etc(to replace electricity lost from Japans shutdown of all nuclear reactors- i think 2 are provisionally running now) from Louisiana and even east coast terminals.
