According to my local branch manager at Scottrade, as long as I am not carrying a negative balance in my margin account, they cannot use the shares in the account for shorting purposes. I had to ask as they have a strict policy about setting overly ambitious sell orders. For me, I would be hesitant to issue a GTC order at 5c given that a 200% + day is always possible at this early stage. I would want to put my GTC order at $3 if I were to go that route. I don't expect that sale until well into 2017.
