"UltraFlix updated this morning, and on my Shield STB it now shows full 4K resolution. Up to now, it showed just HD.
When it launches, the app measures bandwidth. Then, the app shows the full resolution measurement on the 'about' screen.
I've looked at some of the free content - and it's great. There are ads - but I'm OK with that, since they only appear before the free features.
Looking forward to renting some of their movies.
All in all, this represents a big move forwards, in our ability to view streaming 4K content.
Interestingly - my new 2015 Sony 4K set also allows the app to be installed, and it loads. But when you try to play any video, it says 'this video is not available.' That tells me that NVidia and UltrafFlix have come to terms - but UltraFlix and Sony have not.
So Sony - I'm glad there's a workaround...
And NVidia & UltraFlix? Nice job.
