Noted a site (4K.com) earlier today, on which was an archived article, dated 6/30/14 - exactly one year ago, in which Netflix was quoted as saying ....

"4K televisions are expanding in number and we believe they will be a material factor within 5 years."

I guess 1 year is within that estimate, although I'm sure they wish they had recognized what could happen within a year.
