That is correct.
And, in my opinion, it is money and effort better spent on market share increase, product development and operations optimizations. Yes, they can do all at the same time, but, it is better to look forward and plan accordingly then to jump in the mud and wrestle the pigs.
The only justification for such effort would be if they are trying to do a round of funding at this point and would want the pps at a much higher stage for valuation purposes. Even then, some good old fashion patience might be the best cure.
Lastly, an alternative to market cap appreciation for leveraging is doing joint ventures. We have plenty of partners already, perhaps they have deeper pockets for our great ideas?
We don't always have to play to private placement game to raise capital.
