Unsure how people become moderators. I can only tell you how ours become Mods through the songs my forefathers sung to me.
As you probably already know LT is the King. He has all say of the kingdom, and the court.
As for Mods this is the story sung to me.
Speculator was awarded a mods position because of all the surveying he did for the kingdom, it is also sung that he took an apple off a fare maidens head from 100 paces., with his long bow.
Papa was awarded a fiefdom after a great battle vs the Troll kingdom, where in he singlehandedly beat back 60 trolls, and their Troll king Weasledawg.
No one knows the story of Dischino, it is said he is older and wiser than all the moderators and boards out there. Similar to Tom Bombadil of the Hobbit, but only much more handsome. LT himself might have asked permission of Dischino to start a board in the first place.
Benster was awarded a mod spot, because he is a reknowned healer and thinker. Like the court sage, he is always able to come up with the cure or to dispell a curse.
Striving was awarded a mod spot for slaying the last dragon, and for all around bravery. A modern day William Wallace! Warrior/politician.
And as for me, a spot was open, and I guess they needed a court jester or a joker to lighten the brevity of becoming Americas Newest Airline, under the watchful eyes of everyone.
If you are a new guy, and have been watching you will not be angry but understanding, because you know daily what us mods have to deal with. If you are an alias of the cancer, your inner beauty will shine through oh so ever soon.
