That's the big million dollar question. If sony relies on download to play 4k and their media player costs 700 dollars and are losing market because of that limitation, what should sony do? Most other 4k companies out their are too expensive to acquire or probably see sony as competitors So that won't happen. But there is ultraflix and new comer but got the right sauce but don't have the funding. Both are very well complementary to each other. Those are the things that need answers. We know sony and ultraflix PRed in September about some partnership but we don't know the extent of that. The rest of the TV companies were fast in adapting ultraflix but why sony has been claiming its available on their 2014 4k TVs and their coming 2015 4k TVs yet there are no signs of it? The question is why? Is there something bigger growing between the two? All IMO.
