I would think that those were pre-split shares held by previous PVEC shareholders who wanted out. Remember that the stock was basically no bid for some time prior to the split; with the renewed volume post split came an opportunity for some to sell and move on. I believe that's what we saw today, since pre-split shares were finally unlocked with most, if not all retail brokerages.

Having said that, my pre-split shares are still intact, and won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
