Hawaiian has had two emergency landings recently.
A week ago, a 767-300 made an emergency landing and deployed all 8 chutes. Everyone egressed down the slides. Two minor injuries but all 8 chutes deployed normally.
Yesterday a B717 did an emergency landing but they did not attempt an emergency evacuation. Stopped and got towed to the gate where everyone deplaned "normally." Sounds to me like maybe they should have initiated an emergency evac but decided not to. Pictures don't show any doors open on the aircraft away from the gate.
