Source quality indicators (Platinum, Gold and Silver) have been added to the last UF releases, those that were added 10 days ago.
I found it already strange that these were omitted when the films were added.
Turns out none of them is 4K native, they are all Silver, which is upgraded HD.
And now the highlight: even Interstellar is Silver !
So they used a HD source (bluray possibly) and upscaled Interstellar to 4K. Strange, since that film exists in IMax.
What can we learn from that ?
Since they are neither Gold nor Platinum, for one they are not native 4K on UF. Second, none of these films have been scanned (by 4K studios), otherwise they would be at least Gold.
That leads me to the question: what is 4K studios doing with their scanners ?
Could be good, could be less good.
Good if they work on other films, less good if they don't.
What speeks for NTEK is that Interstellar apparently looks stunning, even upscaled. So they did a good job at that at least.

Another possibility is that the person responsible for putting these markers on UF has been doing a real bad job.
