Frederick’s of Hollywood preparing bankruptcy filing
Frederick’s of Hollywood
is preparing to file for bankruptcy as soon as Sunday,
according to people familiar with the matter, after shutting down
all of its stores and signaling plans to become an online-only retailer.
The Chapter 11 filing, to be made in Wilmington, Del.,
is likely to come Sunday or Monday, the same people said. Frederick’s,
owned by Harbinger Group HRG , -1.77% has the terms of a purchase
agreement drafted with a proposed buyer, one of the people said.
Any sale would be subject to approval by the bankruptcy court.
