Shorting Penny Stocks is allowed by the OTC but most trading platforms will not allow it. Majority of firms wont allow short selling below $5pps as they downside is forever for short selling a penny stock. Short selling a $50pps stock isn't as risky since more than likely its not going to run up to $70pps the same day.
