My understanding is that Finra numbers are misleading. First it is not always clear that these shares are truly short today. Often MMs will sell with one hand short while covering with the other so make trades. I do not believe naked shorting would even show up either. It is every difficult to ascertain the true short volume in a stock in OTC....probably any stock.

I have seen company's with 40-50% short volume. Nite used to be heavy short and cover immediately on another stock I used to track. I also used to graph all this stuff to PPS and never found a real correlation. Just my .02.

There could very well be a large short position. There could easily be manipulation to force the price down to accumulate a massive position that they will then run way up to sell off and then perhaps short down. Remember it is all about patience in the end. It is why I tend to focus on market cap.

And why bashers want to focus on dilution.

All that said, this Sony stuff is stupid huge.
