Fidelity is a flat 7.95 on pennies, buy or sell, no matter the # of shares.
When you xfr cash from say your checking account, it takes 3 business days to settle, on occasion 2, before you can buy.
Always plan on 3.
When you sell, 3 days before you can withdraw that money, or use it to make another trade.
If you sell a stock that is other than OTC, except for I think mutual funds (?), that money can be used same day to buy any exchange.
