It's because the topic of the post is about the poster. You are reminding a poster about something THEY said. The topic is not the stock itself. It's lame I know, but that is the way they do it.
The counter posts that have the best chance of survival (even then they sometimes don't) are the ones that point out just how ridiculous the post was but are written in terms of having the stock be the topic.
It takes a bit of wordsmiths but it can be done. Bashers hate it and still sometimes find a way to get them deleted sometimes but it works at least half of the time.
