I'm no lawyer, but I'm inclined to think that our patents would cover things like this. No one would be able to use manf in any of these applications if Dr. John had never identified it. Are there any other examples of a company patenting natural occurring compounds in the body for medical uses? It would be interesting to find out if there is any existing precedent.
