A minor point; but, having flown in the AF and worked on the flightline, turning the lights away may have been more prudent than shutting them down and taking a chance they would have come back on. Especially under adverse conditions. The objective was to darken the aircraft not to blind any other observers. JMO I can't wait for a definitive announcement.
