I followed that whole thing over on the LIEhub board. It evolved into a life all its own.
As I remember it, JVC (or some entitiy) announced they were "using" the NP-1 to promote their 4k projectors. Cool for NTEK. No mention of "buying" but utilizing them in a promotion. From there it became the source of where all the NP-1's were going to be sold (or were being sold). The whole thing went from a valid JVC company promotion into a bombshell of "sales." Was quite curious and really not very productive - but, then again, most things aren't over on that board. Sad. Really.
