Hitting the ask will result in 2 things. If it is a legit seller, it will adjust. If it is being shorted, it will not adjust. The normal trick is too allow the ask to get moved up on legit buying pressure and then undercut the ask after the pressure is gone. The only way to combat that is too have legit bids so they cannot bring it right back down. My suggestion is if you are buying to put a bid in very close to the ask PPS. Let's say the ask is .085, put your bid at .084. They will either fill you or it will just sit.
