If you don't like a site but want to read it go there directly in the url address bar.
If you go to that site via a search engine and spend a long time on it viewing many pages it will help that site in the search engine.
If you go to the site via the search engine and exit that site right away you will be telling the search engine the site wasn't what you were looking for and, ultimately hurting that sites bounce rate. If the sites bounce rate from a search engine is too high, it will have a negative impact on the site's ranking in that search engine since the search engine will believe that result was not helpful.
