Hannover House pacts with Chiller Network and Dread Central for Major Consumer Promotion of "Humans Vs Zombies"
New York, NY, April 5, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hannover House, Inc. (Pinksheets: HHSE) has brought in Chiller Network, Dread Central and the Home Entertainment Group for a major marketing blitzkrieg in support of its sci-fi horror release, "Humans Vs Zombies." The zombie thriller, inspired by the hugely popular role-playing game that boasts over 650,000 registered players, will be coming to DVD, Blu-Ray and Video-On-Demand from Hannover House onMay 22, 2012. "Humans Vs Zombies" stars Madison Burge and was directed by Brian T. Jaynes, who also directed the current best-selling video for Hannover House, "Boggy Creek: The Legend is True."
During the entire month of May, the Chiller Network will be running TV spots for "Humans Vs Zombies" to drive consumer awareness of the film's video release and traffic to the film's website, www.HVZtheMovie.com . The website will contain active links to Walmart.com, Amazon.com, Blockbuster, Redbox, Netflix, Family Video and other major accounts that have committed to significant purchases of videos. Chiller Network reaches over 40-million cable homes in the United States, and is considered the premiere channel for horror films. Chiller is a division of NBCUniversal, and an affiliate of the SyFy Channel and USA Networks.
The popular horror website, Dread Central, will be supporting "Humans Vs Zombies" with an exclusive "Motion Comic" offer during the month of May. The motion-comic tells the prequel back-history to "Humans Vs Zombies" and ends with a suspenseful, cliff-hanger plot device that is resolved only by watching the actual movie. The motion comic book prequel follows the story of a top secret research facility that created the H1Z1 virus, and the courageous head of security that tries to contain the spread after an accident. Dread Central reaches the core market for horror film fans, with more than 2-million unique, monthly visitors. Banners, links and other publicity for "Humans Vs Zombies" will also appear on a dozen other specialty film, sci-fi and horror film sites during the May.
Display ads for the film will also appear in the Home Entertainment Guide's monthly preview of video hits for May, which is distributed to video consumers free of charge through Safeway Stores, ET Video, Video Group, Ray's, Shop Smart, Video Warehouse, Family Video, Blockbuster ABF and more than 1400 independently owned and operated video specialty stores. Hannover House is also implementing a variety of traditional publicity and social media campaigns for the film.
The "Humans Vs Zombies" printed Comic Book will be an on-pack premium item for DVDs sold at Walmart, and will be available to video consumers through Family Video and other participating accounts. The HVZ Comic Book was illustrated by Russell Fox ("Judge Dredd", "Paranormals") and was written by Anthony Perez. The Motion Comic adaptation of the printed HVZ comic was animated by Macizum Media.
Hannover House reports that video preorders already received will make "Humans Vs Zombies" the company's initial release best selling title of all time. The company hopes that the consumer promotions and ads will propel sales even higher through the generation of re-orders and additional placements.
