I don't think its a big deal. The fact that he's got a big enough brain to understand the technology to the point he tried to patent his process gives me the peace of mind that our CEO is no dummy. All the chatter that it was rejected does not discredit him in any way IMO. Patents get rejected and resubmitted all the time. His process must have been unique enough that after a patent search, he felt there was a good enough chance it could qualify and was willing to put his money behind it. Patents aren't cheap so Kudos to him for giving it a shot. No Guts, No Glory!
